How long do you really need to meditate? (Hint: not long)

It started with 60 seconds.

That’s all it took for me to begin meditating.

Once I found my rhythm, it became part of my morning routine — just like brushing my teeth.

For nearly two decades, meditation has been a cornerstone in my yoga journey. I’ve tried it all: visualization, guided meditation, breath-focused, mantra.

The one that works best for someone short on time? A 1-minute meditation.

If you've ever sat down to meditate and found your mind racing or the question “Am I doing this right?" popping up, you're not alone.

In fact, these are some of the most common reasons people give up on meditation altogether.

Here’s the truth:

🪷Meditation isn’t about clearing your mind.
⏳ It doesn’t have to take 20 minutes a day.

You don’t need complete silence.

What you do need? Just 1 minute to breathe, notice and check in with yourself.

Thoughts will come up. That’s part of it. It doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. Let each thought drift by like a cloud in the sky.

In my latest blog post, I debunk 3 common meditation myths and show how accessible meditation really can be. Whether you have 1 minute or 10, meditation is about making space for presence, clarity and your own inner wisdom.

👉 Find out which meditation myths might be holding you back.

If meditation has felt intimidating, frustrating or out of reach…this one’s for you.

In peace and practice,
Julie
